Welcome to the Indiana
University School of Medicine Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) Program.
Matriculating our first class in the fall of 2017, we officially became
the twelfth Anesthesiologist
Assistant program in the United States. We are excited for the
opportunity to contribute to a growing field of healthcare providers.
Our program is dedicated to providing a
life-changing educational opportunity delivered by faculty who will ensure you learn to your fullest potential. Program faculty will walk side-by-side with you to help you become a compassionate,
ethical, evidence-based practitioner
integrated within the Anesthesia Care Team. You will be proud to call
yourself a graduate from the Indiana
University School of Medicine Anesthesiologist Assistant Program. The success of our
program depends on the success of our students. We want you to be successful.
This program offers access to world-class
and simulation laboratories
and is housed within
one of the top academic healthcare
centers in the Midwest Region. The IUSM AA Program is
housed on the Indiana University Health campus within walking-distance access
to University Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children, Eskenazi Hospital, and Methodist Hospital. We deliver twenty-eight months of intensive
didactic curricula complemented by local clinical rotations
through a variety of subspecialties, including pediatrics, trauma, orthopedics,
regional anesthesia, neuro and OB. The program, including classroom,
laboratory and clinical requirements, will prepare you for
the certification examination offered by the National Commission for the
Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants. At your successful conclusion of
you will be awarded a Master of Science in Anesthesia.
